The carols are back!

Christmas Carols for the Fiona Strong Memorial Fund – 7pm, Thursday 6th December – St Mary’s Church in Battersea, with drinks to follow at the Duke of Cambridge

Hello everyone! It’s been a while…

Unfortunately we* don’t have any epic cycling antics to report and it is fair to say that we** are looking forward to putting our bikes into hibernation and adapting to our default roles as fair-weather cyclists / indoor rave spinning enthusiasts. However, that doesn’t mean we*** haven’t been busy!

*Abs doesn’t have any epic cycles to report – Sal has been out lapping the Surrey hills, tackling London to Brighton and enjoying a 120km jaunt in Vietnam to help ease the post-LEJOG blues

**Sal will be putting her bike into hibernation – Abbie’s has been hibernating since John O Groats

***Abbie has been very busy doing all the carols admin – Sally has been useless having too much fun cycling

Quite the opposite, in fact. Alongside a few more weddings and slightly more relaxing stints of annual leave, we have been planning the Fiona Strong Memorial Fund Christmas Carols for 2018.

Following the success of last year’s event and the money we raised for the Royal Marsden as part of our LEJOG fundraising efforts, we will now be hosting the carols annually in support of the Fiona Strong Memorial Fund.

Last year’s event raised over £4,000 and proved an incredibly fun and memorable evening, from the stunning music at the service to the mass take-over of the Duke of Cambridge pub in Battersea afterwards (they literally ran out of wine glasses) – and we are looking forward to more of the same this year.

The Fiona Strong Memorial Fund, as most of you know, is a fund set-up to honour our dear friend who we lost in May this year. The fund’s purpose is to ensure that all of the generous donations towards Fiona’s treatment and future fundraising go to good, local causes close to Fiona’s heart.

The suggested donation for attending the carols this year is £10. This can be made via our fundraising page if you’d like to benefit from Gift Aid (https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/christmasfsmf) or on the door. All profits from the event will go to the Fiona Strong Memorial Fund (donations received on the night may also go towards some of the running costs of the event).

We very much hope to see you there!

Lots of love, Abs & Sal xxx
